Ian Hunter has been regarded as one of the most important, recording artist from the rock and roll area. With a career spanning 5 decades it's hardly surprising that Shrunken Heads Hunter's 12th studio album is an absolute master piece, and streets ahead of anything else he has ever done!
It's a well known fact that Ian Hunter has always been particular when it comes to selecting band members, but Ian knows talent when he hears it and the following line-up of musicians are cream of the crop, when it comes to what Ian Hunter expects from his band. Andy York (Electric Guitars,) Steve Holley, (Drums/Backing Vocals), James Mastro, (Electric Guitars/Backing Vocals,) Jack Petruzzelli, (Electric Guitars,/Backing Vocals) Andy Burton, (Keyboards/Organ/Backing Vocals,) and Mark Bosch, (Electric Guitars/Vocals), Graham Maby, (Bass/Backing Vocals,) are top of their profession in New York City, and it's not hard to hear why when listening to their outstanding performances throughout 'Shrunken Heads.'
In true Hunter style Shrunken Heads features a mixture of rockers, ballads and a little bit of country rock for good measure! The album has something for everyone, and most impressively features a variety of unusual musical instruments hardly ever featured on rock albums, but what do you expect when you have a multi-talented band behind you!?
The CD includes: 'Words (Big Mouth) 'Fuss about Nothin,' When the World Was Round,' 'Brainwashed,' 'Shrunken Heads,' 'Soul of America,' How's Your House,' 'Guiding Light,' 'Stretch,' 'I Am What I Hated When I Was Young,' 'Read 'em 'n' Weep.'
My favourites being 'When the world was round,' 'I am what I hated when I was young,' 'Soul of America,' 'Words Big Mouth,' Brainwahsed, Stretch but each song a gem in its on write!
Ian Hunter's a rock legend who has 'always' remained at the top of his profession, and remains as loyal to his fan base, affectionately known by him as "the kids." as we are to him. A fan base consisting of all generations from all walks of life all there for the same reason, the magic that is Ian Hunter.
Shrunken Heads is a must have not only for Ian Hunter fans but for nostalgic music fans everywhere. Shrunken Heads is available to purchase in all good record stores including HMV. Please check www.ianhunter.com for more details.
