The essential 2-CD set explores the music of the Merseybeat phenomenon, focusing on the major players – The Beatles, of course but also Gerry & The Peacemakers, The Big Three, The Searchers, The Undertakers, The Swinging Blue Jeans amongst many others. These are all brought together with a wellar of cult classics and intriguing oddities from such fiercely collected names as Jason Eddie & the Centremen and the 5A.M. Event. Incorporating all strands of the mods, the rockers, the girl groups and the balladeers to come up with the ultimate primer of a movement that effectively kick-started modern British music.
