“Hi Yah all do you wanna go down to Devil Gate Drive? Well come on…!
Suzi Quatro exploded onto the music scene in the mid-1970's dressed in leather outfits, playing bass guitar, singing lead vocals and giving the male dominated charts a wake up call. "All my life I wanted to be somebody, and here I am." With her outrageous stage persona, electrifying presence, she conquered the U.K. and the British media couldn't get enough of her. Hits included, Can The Can(No. 1) 48 Crash, The Wild One, Daytona Demon, Too Big, Your Mama Won't Like Me,Tear Me Apart, I've Never Been In Love, The Race Is On, and the number one smash hit Devil Gate Drive which stormed the charts back in 1974 and remains a classic to this day.
During the 80's she continued in music for a while and also embarked on an acting career by starring in the popular TV comedy series" Happy Days" as a sort of female Fonz, she also appeared in an episode of "Minder". In between acting she found time to write a musical with Willie Rushton called 'Annie Get Your Gun,' and towards the end of the 90's she appeared in the hit TV comedy series" Absolutely Fabulous."
To this day, Quatro's music and live performances have become an inspiration to female artistes from all over the world because she paved the way for women in rock. If it wasn't for Suzi Quatro, there wouldn't have been a Joan Jett, Kate Bush, Stevie Nicks & others too numerous to mention.
Every Thursday evening, Suzi Quatro can be heard spinning the discs on her own BBC Radio 2 show called" Rocking With Suzi Q" and with a new album on the horizon, ladies and gentlemen its an honour for me to introduce to you the rock legend herself Suzi Quatro.

How old were you when you discovered you had the musical ability to write songs?

You joined a band with your sisters called The Pleasure Seekers and entertained the troops in Vietnam, had a few hit singles what memories can you share from those days?
Suzi Quatro: The Pleasure Seekers was my learning ground. We were a girl band (i.e.) very unique. We worked hard, and played every gig god sent, some good, some bad. Five shows a night was normal, it was good for strengthening the voice. I wouldn’t change those days for anything.
